A Day Late

 When you have a post about to happen but fall asleep do you post anyways even though it's midnight "next day" or move on?😄 I moved on & went to bed but revisited this morning 😄 

Yesterday on Dec 28th 50 years ago the weather was the same stormy & pouring down rain ,History really repeats itself lol when we said "I do" 

When the kids would look at pictures of us back in 1974 they'd ask if we were hippies 🤣

I was just a few months shy of being 18  &  him 21 ,just 8 years from our 50th when he passed away Feb 10 2016 "my bday"  so less than 2 months for now will mark 9 years since he passed away

I look back with no regrets,we had a good rich fulling life together,he often laughed & told  that we grew up with our kids 😄 God blessed us with all our first in that last year,every holiday,every birthday ,ours,kids,grands etc. as of today there are 7 grandchildren & 4 great grandchildren,we enjoyed all 7 of the grands to the fullest but he didn't live to see weddings & the birthday of the great grands ,I can just hear him now "11 grands that's a lot of grandkids"😄

Hot Chocolate & Cookie Makeing

 Had my sweet little great niece & nephew today & what better on a rainy day than hot chocolate, ordering pizza & making cookies

Christmas Vs Birthdays

 Today marks my mom's 89th B'day, she always reminded us that Christmas was Christmas & her birthday were two different things & not to be combining the two😄 oh how she's missed ! she was  a strong tower always standing in the gap, interceding,& luved unconditionally,I can not fathom anyone not embracing such a gift

Memory Pillows Finished

  I got the memory pillows made for my niece  in time for Christmas

Even though it was an easy made it played on my nerves as these being her dads shirts & knowing fabrics can't be replaced🙆 I made a paper pattern & did a test run on reg fabric,press the shirt out & cut up the sides then buttoning th front & cutting one side at a time 

I'd made a teddy bear out scraps from the thick flannel bue plaid one but didn't get a picture of him

Molly & Sadie 🐕came by & picked up me & Grace 🐕to go see Santa ,a man from church dressed up for his neighborhood 

My phone got cracked & is acting up from freezing up ,the the screen skating, it's even making call off my contacts list lol along with other issues ,uts taken forever just to get through this post so bear with me for updates

Where Does The Time Go?

 I can't believe I haven't talked to y'all in almost 4 days ,we've had Sadie🐕, took them to the park to see the Christmas tree displays,the park& river,working on tour of lights pictures,my great niece ,& nephew were here all day yesterday ,today I'm heading out for our girls day making cookies & candy all day this has been a tradition for years at my nieces so that'll be more pics to catch you up on 🤣

So let's start with the trees lol

 It's getting down to that last details of  decorating for my Tour Of Lights ,here's a little sneak peek of a few things 

There's still a bit left to do ,I'm holding off going to the store till last because I know if I leave the house it'll be hard to get back🤣

A Productive Out Of Town Trip

 Today I went out of town with my friend Ree to pick up some bolts of sheer fabric those bolts looked 8 feet long long we let the back seats down in her car & they just barely fit,this was a fabric warehouse & we didn't even cover it all

 but while I was there I got (2) 12"pillow forms @ $12 ea. 

some pretty big remnants sold by the pound  this was $6

19 spools of thread @ 79 cents ea. I never can find the softer black elastic ,I'm not sure how many yards is on here but he let me have the whole roll for $3

We had lunch at a sweet little cafe,for home & after helping her unload those big as life bolts I headed home ,tomorrow I will finish up fluffing & decorating for my Tour Of Lights coming up Wednesday,I don't want to have to do anything wed. but say come in!🤣

Birthday Surprises & Little Helpers

 My niece turned 50 on the 12th& celebrated with hubby to a fancy Christmas symphony,he then planned a surprise party for Saturday evening ,a day out with the grandbabies ,dinner was in order before going to the mall to see Santa ,she wanted dinner at her favorite place,she got that ,& then some the manager was happy to be in-cahoots to the surprise telling them there was a wait then telling us they're here & when she came around that wall we all scream surprise!!

Just look at that face! LoL

You've seen me post pics of my sweet great niece & nephew Jens grands that if they weren't too tired after seeing Santa that they could stop by & help me decorate 2 more trees,little Livvy said oh we won't be tired😄

Grace is onboard with all this decorating 🤣

Fall Still Hanging In There!

 The weather has been unusually warm most days  during this time of year & going from warm to cold within hours ,with Winter just around the corner Fall is just now busting out with all its glory

Warm today 😁freeze coming in tomorrow night🤷gotta luv crazy Ala weather😄

I am super excited for my best friend Ree who just got offered the job of custom making draperies for this house what a blessing!

Family life is still busy ,there's a surprise party planned for my niece who's turning 50 tomorrow ,Monday I'm going out of town with Ree to begin getting drapery lining ordered ,there's just  5 more days till my Tour Of Lights party & there's still a lot of decorating to do

When will I sew again 🤷 I will get some memory pillows made for another one of my nieces in between everything in the next few days  so I'm just taking it one day at a time & see what happens  sewing wise lol

For The Love Of Little Things

 Do you have a love for little things? Throughout the sewing room there are quite a few little things that I hold dear like these cherished teddy's & Ann& Andy figurine gifted to me by my sister nearly 30 years ago 

A teacup ornament holds sewing parts as I change them out,zipper foot,walking foot etc.

A teeny tiny iron is perfect for those teeny tiny blocks lol

The dish on the left was gifted from a friend & the white one from my daughter a few years ago ,they often get filled with bobbins when I have big projects to straight pins 

I'm not sure what it is about little pottery bowls 😄 I recently found these on the clearance shelf at Home Accents 50c  /$1

A few months back I went to a local craft bazzar & came home with these cute little pincushion to add to my collection 

On my other sewing desk I have an antique tool box ,among sewing motions there's this little flower pot that holds my sewing machine needles

I love little jars they can hold anything from buttons ,leftover embroidery threads to craft supply's

One day when I have nothing to do 🤣 I may paint all the lids, it's been a day of cleaning & working on Christmas getting ready for my Tour Of Lights ,on a sewing note I'm working on finishing the binding on the RSC quilt

Grabbing A Warm Spurt

Our weather is more like a seesaw with it's up & down temperatures ,yesterday it was a little chilly but pleasant enough to embrace the outdoors,a great day for a park run before it gets too cold for this morning it is a freezing 25 degrees with no signs of rising past the 40's then back to the 20's 

A few snapshots of our park run & even though winter is trying its best to bust out Mother Nature say just wait your turn Falls not done yet!

 my sewing projects are at a steady pace  for now untill I finish up a special Christmas project for my niece & a small one for a friend ,whether sewing, quilting,slow stitching or nonsense😄 I'll be here 🤷I may even shoot you some yummy recipes for the holidays
