Get Something Done Day 2

 I spent the better half of the morning cleaning the oven,you know the oven fumes that'll send you into another demention?🤣 when sewing smaller projects I tend to just use a nutual thread  but for these hot pad/ potholders I took my time & finished them up with coordinating threads

It doesn't seem I got much done today but yet I did,cleaning the oven occupied my morning but somebody's gotta do it, right? LoL ,later this evening I took Grace to the park which runs long side the river

a clean oven makes for happy baking,a trip to the park after a rain is refreshing,a finished  sewing project to surprise my neice is rewarding, so all in all it was a good day 😁

Get Something Done Day 1

 Happy Memorial Day, hope you've had a good day,my days been quite working with my little garden spot,after picking up my neice from work ,we went to Full Moon for Bar-B-Que

this week I'm going to try my best to get a project finished,everyday,today I painted  & brought life back into a planter stand & my little garden spot done,there's a few more plants to figure out where to put but today I got the banana peppers,cucumbers,squash,marigolds, zinnias & the tomatoes staked

Sunday Blessings & Weekend Adventures

 just a little over a 30 minutes is worth the drive to see the Cahabba Lillies

A trip to one of our local nursery's for collards,squash,cucumbers, banana peppers,egg plants,marigolds, fountain grass& begonias will keep me busy playing in the dirt tomorrow

with so many birthdays, graduations for nieces & nephews I don't think anybody wants to BBQ tomorrow,so I'll work on my little garden,speaking of birthdays that reminds me, there's a party for one of my nephews turning 18 today after church,see what I mean?🤣

Canning,Laughter & Good Times

 where do the days go? LoL no sewing in the last few days,I snagged my best friend of 20 plus years & my neice for a fun filled day of making sweet relish ,chow chow whatever you wantta call it

we've always just julianed it because that's the way we like it,taste great on burgers ,along side meat entrees,my besties husband eats right outta the jar like candy lol

mand your stations! let's get this canning party started!

we called Jimmy John's for delivery,oh my what a yummy sandwich! watched the movie A Man Called Otto, layneigh sitting watching the birds,lots of laughter,yes a good day indeed

when it's snack time, remember it's all about the balance🤣

What's On The Cutting Table & Baby Jays

the cardinals hold a beauty all their own

there were some young female cardinals  today

the chickedees never disappoint with their cute little selves & the purple finches are back

Do You Have UFO's Flying Around?

 Some quilt UFO's have been flying around so long they've settled in like this one hiding in the corner,this is the 1st quilt my Aunt & me put together many moons ago when she taught me how to quilt

chicken blocks,5 point star,little houses just to name a few ,safely in ziplocks & tucked into their own special drawer so they don't get lost lol

some are hiding in the closet lol

quilts aren't the only UFO's lurking around the sewing room but that's confessions for another day 🤣

meanwhile Grace & me have sweet Sadie for the weekend ,Sadie is a chocolate lab belonging to friends of mine,they've helped me pick out patterns,played &  went on their first walk together,a short one lol just seeing how'd they do together

Just A Few More Stitches To Go!

15 rows of 19,5"blocks ,285 blocks & over 1000 knots later we have an almost finish! 

the fabric is a thicker blend of flannel,which is going to make for a good winter quilt,all that's left to is is sew down the edges binding,there's a saying that goes like this,"never say never" wellll🤔I'll leave it at it'll be a long a very long time before I make a full size quilt,give me back my snuggly lap quilts 🤣

Grace not only claimed it but thought the little knots were interesting & thought I'd made her a play quilt 😄

no complaints really of how long it took to put together ,I took my time with it & worked on it from time time & enjoyed the journey it took to get to the finish line now when I look at it there'll be sweet memories of a grandmothers quilt of so long ago,do what brings you joy,anything else is a waste of time

Happy Mother's Day

Wishing all my online friends a beautiful & wonderful Mothers day, if you have to means to luv on your mom do it,I miss mine so much no matter how old I am , I lost my sister just before mom less than 3 years ago,bitter sweet memories yet God is still good! I put a roast in the crockpot with pearl onions & gravy up on going to bed & cooked up some limas & candied yams while getting ready for church

with my fur baby Grace to greet me & the aroma of lunch lingering from the kitchen made for a good Mothers Day for me& not to worry as I did get an invite out from my neice but I told her to enjoy her day all is good at the home front lol

 

Final Quilt Tie Decisions & National Dogs Mom Day!

 I've leaned towards the brown,I've leaned towards the brown,now the blue,I know! right? I need to stop leaning before I fall🤣 anyways I think the winner is the blue ,this is my  first attempt at making a full size quilt , boy oh boy does it take longer lol ,I just guestimated it to fit my bed,it's put together,ironed,basted,just needs the little ties of yarn,ready or not here it is & hopefully I'll get on with it before it turns into a UFO lol

On a brighter note it's National Dog Moms Day! Are you celebrating with your fur baby?

How To Catch A Ball

 All is  quite on the home front,finishing up some UFO's ,sitting on the layneigh reading ,watching the birds & playing ball lol!

 

She is spoiled rotten but I wouldn't have her any other way ,she was a Christmas present to myself at 6 weeks old after my husband passed away & she has been medicine for my soul

New Quilt Idea & Backyard Blooms

 finished quilts, unfinished quilts,quilts in the makings,UFO quilts that's hiding lol so why do we keep doing it😄 after making 2 mason jar blocks which calls for a 5 &1/2" X 8" body I made the mistake of walking away 

walking away is usually a good thing but I should of stayed till all the body of the jars were cut out ,for when I came back to them the next day I realized I'd cut them all 5"X8" what a difference 1/2" makes lol

so now do I make them in the 5" or salvage these cutouts & turn into a border & cut new jar body's? meanwhile I decided it was because of an empty stomach & went into the kitchen 😄

the backyard is blooming ,so happy that what I've planted so far is doing good,I've even got a little garden area started
