I was so close to finishing up the peacock tote bag when I noticed that the peacocks were upside down ,I had sewn the handles upside down,🙆that's 4 layers of stitches I've got to take out
You can tell better here that they're on the wrong end, thankfully I caught it before sewing the ones to the back
It will soon be midnight so a finish wont happen today lol ! nothing to do but shut down the sewing room & retire to the living room with the seam ripper & a good movie🤣

The light causes the deep pink squares & borders to look red ,I will work on getting it batted🤔is that a word 🤣 & backed between today & tomorrow
fabric for the backing has a beautiful feathery look, it will also be my border choice
Hobby Lobby now carries a new ultra light weight batting,usually most battings are too puffy for my liking & I separate it getting 2 quilts out of it lol so I think I will like this one as I like a lighter weight quilt for Spring & Summer & a heavier weight for winter
The baby birds have hatched! I know my plant is happy for it has been thirsty for water for quite a while🤣
A little rearranging of some of the flowers & plants, Hibiscus,tomatoes,chocolate mint,morning glories,butterfly bush.... doesn't look like much yet ,but oh when it all starts blooming !
So far I have a few collard plants & squash with zinnias & marigolds started
I can't show you my Lilly bed because the people who cut my yard mowed them down , I'm; still kinda mad about that😡
Out of nowhere this evening we had a short but hard downpour,I keep a rubbermaid trash can in the shed that I call my rain barrel 🤣 it rained so hard that it filled up quick
Caught little mama coming in from looking for something to eat,she sits on her eggs most all day & through the night now
I sat down to practice a few designs for the bird quilt
what I thought would work is not working 🙆 back in the day when I'd quilt with my Aunt she'd draw a design on paper & stitch around it,then simply remove the paper, so I tried that today👀 when I pulled the paper off it came off as well as the stitches 🤣 then I tried the sew the design with the needle of the machine & dust it with chalk,it didn't show up🙆 then I tried to freehand ,the threads barely showing up lawd have mercy!🤣🤣
The first blue swallowtail butterfly showed up in the back yard today,such a beautiful vibrant blue
Last night when I started putting the second borders on ,something just seemed off,it seemed to be puckering & I noticed the seam allowance was smaller
After taking it off this morning,it dawned on me that I'd forgotten to set the needle position back to the middle after sewing the blocks together , remeasuring the strip it was a little off & for some reason it just wouldn't even out so I cut new strips
the change in seam allowance made for a smooth finish
It made for happier joined seams
planning on getting the top & bottom borders on tomorrow & possibly get it ready for quilting,Im still deciding which designs to use but don't have a lot of time overthinking it lol
I don't think I want to put any stitches across the bird block,Im thinking it will take away from the look of the block🤷
where the green & dark pink print blocks are,maybe a bird house 🤷
More hot dog bun Shenanigans,the morning started off with bread pudding, the recipe is from All Recipes so I knew it'd be good,the aroma of cinnamon & vanilla soon filled the air as it baked to its perfect doneness,I halfth the recipe & used 3 pinched up hot dog buns
Then I got the peaches washed ,peeled,sliced & canned in extra light syrup which is 1 c sugar to 6 c water ratio
Oh the look they gave me when I told them they couldn't snuggle with this one😄
At the farmers market I got peaches which I'll can, butternut squash, I only got 2 because I don't know quite what to do with them😄 strawberry fig preserves, sourdough garlic herb bread,sourdough cinnamon roll focaccia bread,bath bombs & soaps that smell heavenly ,our library is across the road ,came out with books on herbs ,tea gardens,garden ideas,then off to the Mall,below was having 75%off the door busters ,& clearance sales ,bath & body had a 75%off but I was good & just got a few hand soaps & body washes lol
Swung by the Mexican restaurant for a chimmachnga dinner,I asked for a cup of salsa & they loaded me down with chip,what to do with all these chips 🙆🤣
tried the cinnamon roll focaccia bread for my supper
The morning started off with pumpkin spice blueberry french toast made with the bottoms of the hotdog buns I'd made garlic bread from the other day
No sewing, straighten up the sewing room & spent the day cleaning , vacuuming,washing cloths,lunch was simple
Watch a few movies ,went through my bucket list of quilts I want to make ,here are a few I have my eye on for a different approach for scrappys

Yesterdays heat index was terrible,but we were in for an early cool morning that wouldn't last till the sun came up good so we left bright & early so's to beat the heat , the Fayette park is one of our absolute favorites,a longer drive but so worth it & can you believe were were home before 12:00?😄
not only did they show up but they showed out
They were happy I remembered the water!
we left so early this morning we missed bfast so nothing doings but stop by Jacks on the way home🤣
