sometimes I think ironing is becoming a lost art, most retail clothing are designed not to wrinkle, there's wrinkle guard products you can toss in the dryer, back in the day I had a friend that ironed everything& I mean everything, from sheets on the bed down to her husband's undies🤣 moving right along to the rainbow scrap Challenge lol
Orange is our color for May,not a color I keep on hand but I manage lol have you started on your orange s yet?
I did manage to start! Your blocks look great in a variety of oranges. I agree that ironing isn't a common talent any more. Ironing those sheets and unmentionables for my dad was my job as a teen!
ReplyDeleteI don't miss it. LOL It's probably one reason why if you are a quilter, getting a good iron that will last longer than a year is harder than it used to be. I'm sticking with Black and Decker, and it lasts about 5 years, usually.
You found plenty of orangey hues to work with. I'm not a fan of orange either.
ReplyDeletePS I dont mind ironing at all, although since I've had a spinal op I have cut back on my ironing and tend to just fold household items these days. I always iron cotton shirts, blouses, skirts and hankies nedd ironing too.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of using the iron! I do have one set up in my quilting room...... so if it involves the hobby it is ok! What fun blocks you are creating. They are going to make a wonderful quit.
ReplyDeleteI almost never iron anything but fabric/quilt stuff, but I used to iron after school in junior high as a chore--hankies, boxer shorts, dish towels, all sorts. Glad to be done with it!
ReplyDeleteAwesome... need to collect more stuff :-)) need to do this too... love it.
ReplyDeleteMany greetings to you and I wish you further great progress.
p.s. I almost only iron when sewing... but then extensively :-)))
I used to spend a lot of weekend time ironing my husband's dress shirts for work. So glad that is something I no longer worry about, with wrinkle-free clothes. I like your orange blocks, and you have quite a lot of different shades of orange there.
