Coming Up To The End Of The Finish Line

 Little over halfway to the end of the bottom border,if the mitered corners dont give me fits Ill be able to go to bed before midnight 🤣

I will definitely rethink the print pattern the next time I use the Baptist Fan stencil,I can't tell you how many times Id be stitching the circle of the fan & discover I was stitching their tails 🤣 

the ones with light purple ish wispies just blended into my lines because they're about the same color🤣

I think I'll take a little break get something  to eat then get back in here & finish it up, the quilt shop opens at 10:00 in the morning , ready or not quilts have to be turned in by 2:00,voteings will  start Tue.   after Labor Day,  I'll be glad to get this behind me & move on to the next big  project ,its been fun,a little stressful but not in a bad way😄

We have Sadie this weekend so her & Grace have been rearing to go ,I told them as soon as I drop the quilt off we can play🤣

3 Old Pots & A Dishpan

 And what does that give you?redneck  table risers 🤣 bed risers are the best for rasing your table so's not to be bending over too much, I have some but like everything else when you need them, they're nowhere to be found

Don't you just luv it when an idea hits you a day late & dollar short ?🤣 I don't know what it is about this fabric but it doesn't like batting,even changing it out it still wants to climb & bunch up so Im using my cutting table as a make shift frame lol lots of smoothing & ironing as I go ,so far so good & that's a good thing as I'm coming up  to the finish line 

Still no cooking ,today I'm trying 
a new to me  roasted vegetable pizza

It didn't taste too bad,it actually has a roasted veggie taste,I was sceptical of the  balsamic vinegar  but added it anyways,I think next time I'll save it for a salad😄

Time to pull up a good sewing channel on You Tube  ,do yo watch people sew while you sew?🤣 i tested out one if the bird house stencils,the way their lines are spaced you cant tell its a bird house so I took it out, maybe try a darker thread & not let it go through to the back?🤷

Oh well back to the quilt 😁 

Its Getting Serious Over Here!

 You know the little saying"don't call me I'll call you"? I told my FB peeps don't call me & I won't call you & if I don't call you don't call me🤣🤣yea I think all these stitches are making me giddy 🤣🤣 you know its serious when the first thing you do is make a snack plate & thread not 1 but 4 needles! who's  got time to stop & thread that needle, right? 🤣

And FB always popping up with something when they see you🤣 have yal seen these herbal teas out yet? 

I haven't noticed them in our stores but I'm not going out looking for them ,nope I'll be sitting right here  🤣

A Fresh Perspective & Quilt Update

 Perspective: to think about a  situation or problem in a wise & sensible way

I got a lot done yesterday ,even threw in a break with a trip  to the park which made Grace🐕 happy, I knew that I would be pulling an  all dayer so I prepped a snack platter lol 

grapes,strawberries,cheese, cucumber slices,toasted garlic rounds with roasted chicken salad,turned some into Biscotti's with yellow & red salad tomatoes tossed in oil  & shredded cheese& baked till the cheese melted,Grace & me nibbled on this in 4 sittings throughout the day finishing it off before bedtime 

After finishing up the top border with a row of the Baptist fan design it was off to the park

Always luv those special surprises of Nature  along the way that goes unnoticed if you're not looking

Its been a productive day today finishing  up this row ,so far no puckers,whoo hoo!  I'm luving this fan stencil ,I tried to get a picture of the whole row but the stitches wouldn't show up ,maybe when I get to the end & hold it up they'll show more

The small blocks in-between the bird blocks I'm doing a simple stitch to make it look like a 4 patch

& the fan on the upper corners of the bird blocks 

Before I head back to the sewing room Id just like to say thanks to all who left sweet & encouraging comments & @ Katie,this quilt will be judged at a quilt shop ran by ladies who do the quilt guild  shows so it'll be judged like it would be if entered into the main big show ,once again thank you all for your sweetness 

Crunch Time!& Something From My Heart

 Although I have till Saturday,I don't have till Saturday if I want all the blue lines to be completely disappeared 😄 its hard to get a good picture of stitches especially with white in the background ,today Im working on stitching a Baptist fan pattern around the border edges

last week while checking the back of the quilt I noticed a fold🙆 not just a little but all the way down the 3 rows I'd just spent 2 hours on ,there was no way to fix it except......

and we know what that means! walk away! run! scream if you have to but just walk away!🤣 fixed a bite to eat & watched another episode of  Louisa May Alcott's " Little Men" then tackled the problem ,  realinning the layers & just dove into it,so far today the back is cooperating & not puckering ,I may be burning a lot of the "midnight" oil if I keep checking it every frew stitches 🤣

This quilt has certainly been giving me a run for my money ,if I truly didn't enjoy what I do itd make it go crazy & day forget it ,but isn't that what challenges are all about?    madness? in a good way!🤣

 But then.....another challenge,this one a challenge of the heart ,one that called to walk away again,not because I messed up,not because I gave up but because of words from my dearest friend cut like knife to my very soul  ,as the ph rang Im in the middle of all this redo, she ask what I'm doing ,I should had just said working on my quilt ,after a few choice words from her of why am I even doing this ,Im laughing as I tell her the devils just up in my business but Im gonna press on , she didn't find that funny & basically called me stupid for trying to enter a judged show ,well I could be here all day relaying that conversation but it bout broke me ,I spent the entire day sitting on the lani crying ,I thought about David in the bible when he cried out to God asking why'd his friends hurt him for no reason

 Signs of Summer still hanging on,butterflies fluttering ,hummingbirds humming,birds signing, as you can see ,they don't even mind sharing their sunflower seeds 😄 I luv it when doves are out,Mr Jay was in the distance fussing,perhaps because there were no peanuts 😄

Dehydrating Hibiscus Flowers

 Early this morning before daylight I worked on the quilt for a little over 2 hrs then took a break, got a little breakfast,took the garbage out,gathered the hibiscus flowers,gave them a good rinse & prepped them to dehydrate in the oven

A few more zinnia survivors are blooming 

It'll be a few hours before stores began to open so I'll work on the quilt some more ,I want to get a lot progress  done on it before going to pay my cell ph bill, it wouldn't let me without updating but instead of updating it locked me out so at some point I'll have to get dressed & go to town 😄

Blue Tea ,A New Cup & Quilt Update

 My friend Ree & I were out & about & stopped off at World Market, at the back of the store is a wall of tea,lots & lots of teas! So many I've never seen nor heard of,so yea I was in tea heaven 🤣 

the tea is on cute little Sachet bags filled with apple pieces,rose hips,butterfly pea flower,lemon peel,lemongrass, raspberry flavors, honey flavors 

just look how pretty the blue color is!

& oh course I had to get this beautiful glass tea cup to show it off !

It is the butterfly pra flower that turns it blue,I search & searched for that named flower only to discover its not available  where I live so I was excited to find this tea,I will definitely be going back for other varieties,besides🤔 we have to go back,there's so many soup mixes to try! 🤣

I've been working on a fan stitch on the corners of the bird blocks, working on this quilt is giving me a run for money lol today the point of the erasable pen fell out in a globe while tracing one of the birdhouses 🙆I dabbed it up as gently as I could  & came close to throwing in the closet & saying forget it!😄 but thank the Lord it dried & disappeared!

This quilt needs to cooperate with me ,its crunch time!🤣

Are You Ready For Fall?

 Mother Nature is slowly trying to ease us  into it with  more rain in the forecast & temps as low as the 60's coming in the next few days so lets start it off with pumpkin spice waffles ,& a pumpkin spice latte for breakfast 

The latte is easy peasy,just pour & add whipped topping with a sprinkle of pumpkin spice,although I think it'd be heavenly with Carmel added to it, lol

There was so sewing, quilting or going near the sewing room yesterday just a quiet day,cleaning & organizing around the house & later took myself to dinner to a "new to me" restaurant 

yesterday marked my Terry's 72nd B'day,this Feb.will mark 9 yrs since he passed away & I'll  turn the big 70 ,where does time go & why must it go by so quickly

Since I have Sunday Dinner for family & friends to celebrate the first day if Fall,a tradition  I started a few yrs ago I wil be pulling the Fall decor out soon, but first I really really gotta hunker down & finish the show quilt

Playing When I should Be Quilting

 Seeing Kates latest video of The Last Homely House has got me wanting to make a 16 patch  checker board quilt 😄

The rain caused a drop of 78 degrees early this morning so that was well taken advantage of😄

The stores are already stocking Fall treats on the shelves,so why not? Its technically 5 weeks till the 1st day of Fall😄
