More Decisions

 I did a final layout for Livvys quilt noticed a few bkocks need a visit from the seam ripper & resewn a little neater & possibly one more row 

Casons quilt,I've decide to run grab another yard of the dinosaur print & make a border on the sides then width of the print strips,this will give it a print border look all around, thankfully the fabric shop is open today & I've already confirmed its still in stock ,so will I be partying New Years Eve? Absolutely ! In the sewing room!🤣🤣

Dinosaurs Are Ready For Borders

 The dinosaur  quilt top isis ready for borders ,its roughly  44 x 73 a bit longer than I wanted it to be ,the pattern calls for  it to be   47 x 63 finished  with the strips being  8 1/2" WOF & the squares 4  1/2" which my WOF was 44 but it still shouldn't be longer the strips & squares are the correct size with about 1/4" seams 

Adding borders on the ends will make it to long & Im not sure it'd look ok with just side borders 🤷 I'm feeling the urge to rip it all apart & start over 🤣  oh well I shall sleep on that thought 😄

51 Years Ago...

 Today marks 51 years since we said I do, cherish the moments for time stands still for no one & quickly slips away, Feb.10th will mark my 70th birthday & 10 years since he passed away, time sure goes by quickly,so cherish every moment ,embrace the little things & live life to the fullest, every day may not be a good day,but God is still God & God is still good!

Happy Christmas Eve!

Wishing all a beautiful day today,I've only a few things to grab at the store to make for dinner tomorrow,Im not sure when fried orka became a christmas dish but that's  what my niece wants & its scarce this time of year

Grace ,Sadie & me have started the morning off with dusted blackberry pancakes & bacon, those eyes are locked in on my plate🤣

Working On The Dinosaur Quilt

 I had a dinner to go to this evening but I did get some more  rows of blocks sewn  together for my nephews dinosaur quilt

Sadies owners are making a family trip to New York for Christmas so she gets to spend Christmas with us through Sunday

We're having unusual warm weather for this time of year but no complaints as it'll make for good  adventures for these two

more pages & a few more tweaks to finish up the little stitch the season journal, today consisted of cooking a good breakfast of eggs, bacon & fried biscuits with grape jelly, a nap 🤔maybe it was 2 lol & binge watching Christmas movies, sometimes you've just gotta rest & do not much of anything

Counting Down The Hours

Todays the day to get all the finishing touches finished for my Tour Of Lights event, I'm putting off going to the store till the end,it seems once you're out there you cant get back😄

Burrrrr It's Cold!

 Our temps dropped in the teens last night & its still freezing,a good day for cooking comfort food , cleaning little decorating & sewing "maybe" 😄 I finally made it to Fayette Ala & visited their fabric shop,I will have to go back for a "me trip" sooooo much I could of walked out with lol but I restrained & only got what I needed  to make a neighbors quilt 

While I was in Fayette I met up with my niece,we walked the park,we walked, talked,laughed ,went to her favorite coffee shop & of course we had to scroll through Walmart 😄

It was so good to finnaly  meet Mrs Phyllis of Scrap Iron Quilting ,shes an hour drive so so worth the trip,check them out of FB

Cold bitter days calls for Southern comfort food ,collards picked from my garden yesterday, pintos,stewed squash,baked bar-b-que chicken & cornbread

Family Baking Day 2025

With al the fun activities during the Christmas season,I think  our cookie baking day may be our favorite,not everyone gets to come every year,but we make up for it lol, 3 hours later there were cookies here, cookies there, cookies everywhere! 😄 we all leave with a large tin crammed full of cookies🍪🍪🍪
