Burrrrr It's Cold!

 Our temps dropped in the teens last night & its still freezing,a good day for cooking comfort food , cleaning little decorating & sewing "maybe" 😄 I finally made it to Fayette Ala & visited their fabric shop,I will have to go back for a "me trip" sooooo much I could of walked out with lol but I restrained & only got what I needed  to make a neighbors quilt 

While I was in Fayette I met up with my niece,we walked the park,we walked, talked,laughed ,went to her favorite coffee shop & of course we had to scroll through Walmart 😄

It was so good to finnaly  meet Mrs Phyllis of Scrap Iron Quilting ,shes an hour drive so so worth the trip,check them out of FB

Cold bitter days calls for Southern comfort food ,collards picked from my garden yesterday, pintos,stewed squash,baked bar-b-que chicken & cornbread

Family Baking Day 2025

With al the fun activities during the Christmas season,I think  our cookie baking day may be our favorite,not everyone gets to come every year,but we make up for it lol, 3 hours later there were cookies here, cookies there, cookies everywhere! 😄 we all leave with a large tin crammed full of cookies🍪🍪🍪

 

Watercolor's Last Class

 

Never fear looking dumb taking  notes , sketching & "pic's", it was looking dumb that got me this far 🤣the last class participation was a tea kettle & cup, I forgot to shade in the sides of the cup,the shadow of the handle looks like an extra handle 😄 I'm  sure that if you look at the teachers & back at mine you can find more, but I think I came pretty close & my teacher said it was good so there you go!  🤣 This was our last class,these past 6 weeks went by way too fast,it will be a year before the intermediate class, a yr!🙆 we laughed as I told her I'd be the one she'd have to say you're in the wrong class🤣 she assured me that now that I have the basics down & practice I will do fine🎨🖌️ I stopped by the book store & picked up a few books on watercolor, a yr from now will tell the tale 🤣meanwhile the color charts that we did in the 1st class will have a redo along with others,I already have some great you tube channels as well as FB pages on hold ,yesterday may have been the last class but today the journey still continues 🎨

Painting Homework Done!

 I needed to finish up my painting,Grace🐕wanted to snuggle, she will come to wherever I am & nudge my leg when she wants to be next to me on the couch snuggling,I kept telling her later baby girl,so we had to have a talk about it 😀

Of course she won but just for a few minutes 😄I still tend to get my colors too dark, the acrylic side of me just wont let go 🤣we will go over the Cala Lily in class today

On this one we were to finish out the page with the apple & the blueberry's ,at least that's what the paper say they are🤣

Today will be that last of the 6 week course,so much was crammed into these 6 weeks , there's no way to learn it all, it took me a good 2 years to get a handle on acrylics so I will be patient with this journey  & continue to learn by watch You Tube,buying watercolor books etc, next year will tell the tale if I need to go to the advanced class or repeat🤣

Making The Table Multitask

Is it just me,or does it seem  when there's work  to be done, once you leave the house you cant make it back?🤣 something came up & now I have to get a shower,& go to town & while I'm out might as well bring some dinner back with me right? So I set up my table to multitask when I get back 😄

Watercolor on one end of the table & slow stitching on the other end,the watercolor will take  first priority of getting finished  as tomorrow is our last class

Final layout decision for Cason's quilt ready to begin assembling 

Only one chaper to read  to catch up on the Jan Karons book club reading for Shepherds Abiding 

I guess you could say that today is multitasking at its finest 🤣
