Ending The Day With A . Beautiful Sunset

 A day of a little of this & a little of that while waiting on my lawn people to come ,worked on the lime green quilt, finishing up sorting scrap tote #1 , made a chicken tortilla pizza for lunch

 

made a late run to the park ended with a beautiful sunset across the river

made homemade waffles for supper

Scrap Sorting

 I hope your morning has found you well & off to a productive start

I'm picking up where I left off last night sorting my fabric totes

This is tote #1 it is mostly scraps but a few yardages got in the mix  ,there are 3 more totes in the closet of the sewing room lol

these are left over strips from binding quilts, should I turn them into binding strips or jelly roll strips 🤷

this pile will easily produce 5" squares & possibly enough left over for 2 1/2"-2" squares

all in this pile will easily produce 2" squares

this is the scapeist pile,sizes vary for projects ranging from string blocks to block centers to journal pages etc.

beginnings of an ugly fabric pile 🤣 I have lots of ugly fabric in the carport that was gifted to me ,I seen on a  Just Get It Done Quilts video where she takes ugly fabrics & fabrics you know you'll never use & turn into a quilt by cutting them onto large squares  12-18" then cut those at an angle &sew together then do opposite & keep going smaller & smaller till you like it 😄

On the scap sorting I've seen a few makes different size blocks as well as strips from their scraps 50% of me wants to do that lol do you do that with your scraps?  I guess what's holdings me back is these scraps have been rotated into at 5 or not more quilts,they refuse to die 🤣 

Sunday Inspiration

 

Baby Shower & Park Adventures

 Do you ever have days that don't go accordingly as planned? Todays plan was to lay back,clean house,quilt & even  try my hand at making home made bread then I remembered about the baby shower for one of our sweet mothers from church, as I'm getting ready to run to town I get a text ,an unexpected trip ,& asking if I Could watch sadie for the day

Soooo my plans changed , ran to town  for a present 🎁,swung by & picked up Sadie 🐕 & take her to the house,threw in a load of cloths ,got them 🐕🐕settled,went to baby shower 🍼

 cane home& took Grace & Sadie to the park

,back home,made hamburger sliders,took Sadie home

There's a whole new week ahead,perhaps I will try again for a nonsalaunt day 🤣

The Birds Are Singing

 Still a wet day but so far no rain but it sure acts like it wants to come back , the birds are so spoilt 😄 they make a ruscus when the feeders dry & they wont touch any mix that has the tiny seeds that looks like parakeet seed lol the rains let up so i refreshed their feeders ,they all cane out lol 

Even Mr Sneaky came out 🤣

Days like today I could sit out here till dark,Im seriously thinking of bring my sewing machine out on the laynigh 🤣

Happy Roses

 The Roses are luving all this rain but it really needs to stop now ,the grass is getting to high for the lawn mower 😄 

They say you should only plant or dig up rose bushes in months that has an R in it 🤔 that doesn't give much time to add more before September lol  

Lunch Break& Quilt Update

I started on the rustic brown quilt today so I decided to keep lunch simple with a salad & grill a steak but didn't want the dane ole same ole so I bumped it up a notch & turned it into a steak salad

I googled for a new dressing recipe & went with creamy balsamic vinaigrette ,I took out things I didn't like  & added things  I liked , I didn't care for all the added salt , I didn't have a lemon so no lemon juice I added the egg,cheese & croutons in place of red onions & feta ,i font care for the brown speckled Dijon,i use the smooth,it has a milder taste,when trying recipes don't be afraid to tweak it,use what you have  & make it your own

Later it was time for keto peanut butter balls & coffee

I worked on a few blocks but i think before I get to far into them I will made the inner stitched squares & circles bigger,I like the look of the red but thinking I want the circle bigger

The red doesn't show too much on the darker blocks so I may rethink what to do with them

I've Put Myself In The Corner

 🤣 I should be folding cloths but I'm not, so only one way to handle this is to put myself in the corner till I decide to do it 🤣  

Wooden tv trays are the best things for sitting & stitching on your quilt ,the green quilt is on one in the living room for when I want to watch a movie

when I'm not working on it I keep it in the basket beside the chair 

the sewing tin holds threads,scissors,needle,seam ripper & chalk pencil & small rulers etc that I use for tracing shapes,it keeps everything I need to work on for this quilt in one place

And of course there's always coffee or tea , I've been making more little coasters in between projects 

Thread decisions,Im liking the red for the small squares & alternating circles for the center of the block ,the main block itself I'm thinking the dark brown,the back is 3 shades of brown, I used what I had

the red would only be the tiny 2 1/2" squares & circles in the middle of each block so I'm thinking it won't look too bad against the brown back as the dark brown stitches will be the dominate  color,this quilt will be for me & I'll be looking at the front more than the back 🤣

Eatin Good At Home

 When the restaurant discontinues your favorite pasta dish, you tweak & find the perfect sauce , squash,carrots, broccoli steamed,grilled chicken, linguine noodles 

WHITE SAUCE

make a rue with

4 Tbsp.butter

4-5 Tbsp. flour

add milk a little at a time till desired thickness

about a Tbsp. shredded Parmesan cheese

"I had mild cheddar" & just eyeballed it

I also used heavy cream & thinned it out with milk

Its rained pretty heavily off & on today with thunderstorms  ,just took it slow today ,washed cloths,deep cleaned & rearranged the bathroom, took a nap🤣 watched a few movies,got the rest of the bills paid , just a slow,restful but productive day

 This is one of my favorite coffee cups ,  as far back as I can remember I've  luved Mondays to be my no obligation day if avoidable lol,a day to just chill out at home in my pjs , clean around the house,sew, paint, work in the yard,read,bake,just whatever lol
