Block Assembly & Peanut butter Cake

 Don't over think it! Don't overthink it! No matter how many times you say it ,your brains gonna hurt😅I think this is my first Scrappy quilt that has made me go beyond overthinking to the point of googling the color wheel 🤣


I'm liking the flow of the top half but that left bottom corner 🙆perhaps because I'm not a big fan of orange ,still shuffeling the reds,blues & oranges,made a few more blocks,didn't get a picture of the pinks before I blended them into the layout



Had a taste for peanut butter cake so whipped one up today 




Basic Yellow Cake

Ingredients

Cake

  • 2 1/2cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/3cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2teaspoons vanilla
  • 3eggs
  • 1 1/4cups milk
  • Steps

    Heat oven to 350°F. Grease and lightly flour 13x9-inch pan. In medium bowl, stir flour, baking powder and salt until well blended.

    In large bowl, beat granulated sugar and 3/4 cup softened butter with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, scraping bowl occasionally. Beat in 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla and eggs until well blended. Alternately add flour mixture and 1 1/4 cups milk, beating well and scraping bowl after each addition. Pour batter evenly into pan.

    Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely, about 1 hour

  • The icing I just used Pillsbury vanilla icing & mixed it with peanut butter till I got it to my liking,🤔maybe 3 good sized tablespoons
