There's still quite a few UFO's in the sewing room that I'm trying to finish up by the end of this month but who we kidding right?😁 one thing I know & that is that this quilt will be finished,it's been on the back burner for more years than I can remember
I started it years ago with my Aunt who taught me the old school way of quitting,no fancy rules,no sewing strips to make 9 patch etc if you wanted a designed you traced a cookie cutter, leaf 🌿 whatever then stitched around the outline & she was set on it not being quilted under the machine, there will be a post all about this quilt & my sweet Aunt Anniebell when I've finished
just 2 more blocks on this row to hand stitch
Then there's actually just one row left as I noticed the bottom row has been done, back in the day when this was started she quilted on one end & me on the other her stitches so neat & so tiny
And mine🤔well they're in there lol
just one more row ! this quilt has been put away for way too many years, since I started it with my Aunt Anniebell when she taught me to quilt, I've always called it Anns Quilt, I've been steadily stitching on it from time time this past month & I can't wait to tell you the story behind it

Good to work on these long term projects.
ReplyDeleteI love quilts like that - looking forward to reading the story. xx
ReplyDeleteThat is a pretty design for a quilt and love the colors. My paternal grandmother use to make quilts in the same fashion. Used what you had then. Even used the feed sack material from the chicken feed. Janice
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet remembrance this quilt will always be to your Aunt Anniebell. It will also be testimony to how far your quilting has come as well as the way we quilt today. Thanks for the story and remember: just one more row!
