not all sewing straight pins are created equal, some I believe are just for looks lol as they bend, heads fall off etc. the question why so many pins always fascinated my little niece, she called herself my pin organizer lol so lets see..
On the cutting table are collections of quilting pins for light weight,(hearts) heavy weight(yellow) kint & silks (teeny tiny)
to the left of the sewing machine a fabric covered mason jar lid holds pins as I take them out of projects I'm sewing, the jar holds filled bobbins
to the right are my all time favorites no rhyme or reason just that their bright shiney colors remind me of the ole tyme jacks
different pins serve different purposes, how many pin stations do you have?😄
meanwhile green is the color for January for the new rainbow scrap challenge so I'm pulling out my greens & seeing what I can come up with
Wow! That's a pin collection! Beautifully displayed too. I'm still using my late Mum's dress making pins and also those newer long pins (not sure what they are called). We have 3 cats so I prefer keeping the pins and other small sewing notions away from curious kitties. I have bought others, but as you say; some seems to be for looks only, they don't even go through the fabric! lol
ReplyDeleteyou are so right - different pins for different jobs...I only have two main ones....mainly I like the Clover long fine pins with yellow & green tops
ReplyDeleteI have 3 different varieties pins and I use them all. I thought March would have been the month for green seeing it is St Pattys Day. Janice
