More Scrappy Strips & Lost Projects

 Working on making more blue scrappy blocks ,adding to them till they're big enough to cut into 2 1/2 X 10 1/2" strips 

left over larger scraps got sewn back together  to make more  strips

then if those scrap's were wide enough,they got cut  & sewn back together till they reached  10 1/2" long

these scraps are definitely getting a workout 😄 ,I pulled out one of the scrap totes & found more blues & in the bottom were long lost unfinished aprons 🤔 I think it got to close to Christmas back when I was working on them so I'd put them aside 

I'm not sure if I can finish this one as a full apron, I'd made if from leftover fabric from pillow projects so its cut down the middle ,looking at it I noticed lining up the pumpkins took away from the top ,not sure how to fix that just yet ,but not gonna stress it

Next Big Project

 My next big project but not a hard project is getting the pillowcases under way for the children's hospital

There's plans to get a handle UFO's & forgotten projects this week,I'd seen on one of the you tube channels to sew 10 minutes a day on a project ,well I need to sew more than 10 minutes a day 😄but I thought I'd do some prep work &  see how 10 minutes on each project works out 

Slow Going

 Its been slow going but definitely will have to speed up soon 😄 I've been deep cleaning the kitchen from cleaning cabinets inside & out down to washing the drawer liners😄pulling my Fall dishes; down to the bottom  shelf etc.  I think I may be getting to old for this kind of cleaning for its bout to beat me down 🤣

Cooking has been slow & easy as well ,I tried a meal kit that I bought at Target,lordy there's a lot of food in these things but everythings cooked except the broccoli which it gets steamed in the microwave, can't beat these for $16.99

I pulled out my plaid quilt I'd started quilting last year 🤔I don't remember sewing it on the machine but since its a little half way done till ready to bind  I'll  continue it on the machine, it'll make for a quick finish & later embrodery circles or square indentions on some of the squares 

Making Ugly Blocks Cute

 A few weeks back I randomly started making scrappy blue blocks for an overall blue quilt from the scrap pile

They would be fine I guess for a scrappy look with different colored blocks 🤔Im not sure why my blocks started going in this direction  as my mind was in this mode😄

no way was I unpicking them, didn't want them to become long lost orphans so I decided to cut them at an angle & still be able to achieve this block like my original plan only scrappy 

Do you use gadgets to hold your rulers down?

So basically what I've created for myself is to make scrappy blocks,cut them up & sew them back to make a block🤣

Future blocks I'll make larger as to get more strips,bigger scraps from the cuts are sewn back together & cut onto strips,all strips are 2 1/2 X 10 1/2 like the quilt above that I made a few years back takes 30 blocks so it wont be priority but not forgotten , there's Fall projects, UFO's, new sewing adventures & getting ready for the holidays to get a handle on😁

A Quilt,Cookies & The Park

 Finally got my quilt dropped off at the  quilt shop, if I learned anything itd be don't be afraid to use darker threads 😄 we laughed as I told her they won't even see the stitches but the proofs on the back😄

The idea was to draw a number which in turn gave you a paint chip card of which you use to to choose your color theme

One thing for sure with soooo many stitches in ,one I'm able run it through the washer it'll be all soft & crinkly ,even though it probably wont get many votes ," you vote on what you cant see" 🤣

 with all the fits it gave me lol its been a fun learning journey ,the pattern I used ,I didn't want to make a baby quilt size & the twin was over the size limit so I learned to resize a quilt lol,here I am pushing 70 👀 just learning how to pull the thread through & pop the knot so it doesn't show on the backside & to glide the needle through so's not to tie ot off & start again do many times ,I laugh st my self when I think I know how to quilt yet I don't know how 🤣🤣🤣

meanwhile I can make good cookies 🤣 I opted almond flour in the peanut butter cookies , healthier means you can have more,right?🤣

Sadie eas patiently waiting for them to get done, Grace stayed in her comfort zone like " bring me one" 😄

Who Says Dogs Can't Paint?🤣

 

If it's on the Internet its got to be true ,right?😄 I saw this reel & thought🤔 I have paint,PB, canvas,ziplock, lets do this!😄

*Add paint to a canvas

*Smear PB on top of a ziplock

 *Carefully insert the canvas,I added a little whipped topping for extra yumminess 

"Seal the bag & wait for it!

*I cut the baggie down the middle to keep from smearing it

As theyre licking away at the peanut butter ,their tongues are pushing the paint upward giving a pallet knife effect 👀how amazing is that!

Couldn't find the paint pen so I'll just get another while Im out tomorrow & add their names
