Pillowcase Assembly Line

 I fought the serger again & this time I won!😄 Now I can resume making the pillowcases for Case With A Smile,.starting from the cutting table

To jelly rolling

To the sewing machine

to the ironing board & back to the sewing machine to the little  table waiting to sew down the side & bottom

Then over to the serger to finish the edges

check for strings & turn right side out

then to the back of the rocker where they'll await for a final inspection, final pressing & folded, so today I'll be swamped in pillowcases😄 

Sunday Inspiration

 

Mats, Borders & Farmers Market

 Having all the prep work made the finishing on these small projects go a lot quicker after getting home from the farmers market this morning, mats for the sewing machine & the serger , here's a look at the fronts & the backs

The  first border is on the Fall panel ,strips are cut from the leaft print & the sunflower print , I'm thinking of doing a 4 patch border

The farmers market did not disappoint ,one picture I wished I'd gotten was when going to the car  I turned  to see what Grace was looking at,the peaches had came out the bottom of the bag & there was a trail of peaches following me to the car 🤣 a sweet couple stopped & helped me gather them all up 

There's a lady that makes bath bombs & these smell soooo heavenly & turns the water the color that they are 🥰 she was low on them & said she'd have more next week

Grace had a good time at the farmers market,she soaked up all the attention she was getting from people & doggie friends

Putting The Scrappy On Hold

 196 in & 109 to go,I've gotten them  to a good stage to gather up the rows & keep their sequence all tucked away in a shoe box till time to get them out again ,with finishing up the pillowcases , getting things ready for my Fall celebration dinner & then the Holidays start kicking in,it may be next year before they come out 🤣

As the day came to an end Grace & me got in a walk around the neighborhood just before dark ,I shouldn't had eaten before walking,now I'm pooped out 😄 tomorrow's a new day,maybe Grace & me will go to the farmers market ,meanwhile I think I'll  go in do a little prep work for tomorrow's projects before bed  

What's Next On The Table?

 Fall is coming! Quicker for me as I host a Celebrate Fall  dinner buffet for friends & family the first day of Fall which is September 21st so in the next few weeks you'll see me transitioning into Fall

Even the butterfly's are looking fallish 🍂 

A lot to do today 🤔 a lot that I want to do 😄 so a good breakfast is a good start, waffles are easy ,keto friendly & low carb with 1 egg,1/2 c. almond flour,tsp. baking powder,6 tbsp.  milk of your choice 

I straightened up the rows on the scrappy layout & did the math ,the layout is a 16 X 19  so counting the blocks in row 3  (16)& subtracting 16 from 19 tells me row 3 needs 3 more blocks & so on for each row then add the totals concluding 122 blocks to go 

Working On The Scrappy Layout

 Still working on my "puzzle"😄 I've added about 50 more blocks , trying to evenly distribute the color variations ,I didn't want to do groups of color like I do when going for a color wash look,that's when I came up with the idea of laying it out like a puzzle ,this way I can tell  when there's too much of one color in a clusters & keeping lights & farks evenly distributed throughout the top I dare say there may be a little over 100 more to go🤔 

More Progress On The Scrappy Layout

 

Lets see how much progress we can get done today, I'm not sure how many blocks I got sewn last night,it was a lot 😄 so far I'm liking the color pattern that's coming together 

I'm trying to keep a balance of lights & darks as opposed to color grouping, so far they look balanced in the black & white scale 

Rerouting Before I Lose My Mind 🤣

 The serger is still not cooperating,so no finishing pillowcases today,so I decided to work on more scrappy strip blocks,Im trying out a new way of laying them out"puzzle style" 🤣

Auditioning Fabrics For Pillowcases

 There's been an explosion of pillowcases in the makings in the sewing room,going through my good stash I'm finding quite a few that coordinates with the body prints 

This pile is ready for pressing & rolling up into a jelly roll

Then they get sewn across the top & pulled through & put over the rocker waiting to go through the serger finishing the side & bottom seam

Got Thread?

While shop hoping in Montgomery, my niece & me stopped at walmart,she asked doesn't our walmart sell thread? I said barely but they don't sell all the colors like this in the all purpose,so we laugh at the thought of driving 2 hours for  thread🤣

A reusable bag is always good but beware of the staple

my first thought was ouch  now i have a hole in my finger😄 then maybe they did that on purpose so you cant zip it open & steal the thread🤷

All of it wouldn't fit in my large thread jar so I seperated lights & darks

My thread shelf is growing 🤣*all purpose,*100% cotton,*embroidery,*serger,*whites/blacks/greys*,quilting ,how do you organize your threads?

1st Christmas Quilt Is Finished

 A little stitching here ,a little stitching there & finally the last stitch has been stitched & ready for snuggling up with Christmas movies,Grace & Sadie were happy to oblige me for a photo shoot 😄

More Shop Hop Adventures

 Well after coming to the conclusion that Tuesday must be the new Monday as everything within the 1-2 hr driving range was closed on Mondays, yesterday was narrowed down to about 2 ,after meeting the sweet ladies of Sew Bernina in Montgomery we decided we'd visit shops that were in area while were were there ,I kid you not 4 out of business 🤣 so off to walmart & Golden Corral for dinner & back home with a squealing,leg kicking happy baby in the back & 2 grown women in the front bee bopping & singing along with Elmo & Cookie monster 🤣🤣 

 

Their quilts made up with the special shop hop fabrics are gorgeous!they even made up kits for different projects
