Down To Two Layouts

 Started the morning with waffles made with almond flour,my new little mini waffle maker is going to help me stay on track with a lot of good choices

I'm down to 2 layouts for Livvys quilt, I'm making them both a good lap size ,so not to big & not to small

Dont Overthink It!

 There's quite a few ways this one can go,start eith a bird block,a color block ,2 colors together,I even folded them into triangles to see how'd that would look🤷  I've turned these blocks so many ways & Im sure there's tons more lol  its time to walk away

Anyways everything for both quilts are cut,prepped & ready for action,maybe my brain will kick back in once I get something to eat 🤣

Something's Roaring In The Sewing Room!

😄 working on layouts & putting the tops together for Livvy's & Cason's quilts 

I will start on Livvy's after I deal with all these dinosaurs 😄 her quilt wil be made up of 10

1/2"x 10 1/2" blocks so should go quickly

A few more odd & end finishes are in the works again today but mostly working on these 2 layouts

January's comming Up Red

 I wanted this quilted for Christmas this year but I have too many other pressing things that has to take priority 

Then there's the red & white I just started cutting out for a simple 4" patch work

The little red scholl house has always been on my bucket list so I'm hoping to squeeze it in along with a few more that's been on my mind

Today has been filled with  working on odds & ends like trying to finish up the little Christmas stitch journal 

For dinner I added chicken to the leftover spinach pasta ,it bumped it up to a whole new level of yumminess!

Worked some more on Christmas decorating,a sneak peak of the mantle 

The Milford Book club on FB is reading Shepherd's Abiding  by Jan Karon,I've been reading her books for years, they are very good clean reads & this book is the 2nd in the series of 12 🤔I think,I have 2 more to find to complete the series,I don't like to start a series untill I've collected them all but decided to join in with them,I hope reading out of sequence doesn't mess with my mind🤣

Art Class & Christmas Tree s

 I had my watercolor class this morning,my brain still trys to go into acrylic mode with the brush 😄 with watercolor you glide the brush in long strikes,I still catch myself making short strokes & so does the teacher😄 I made a mess of my lemon then on to sabotage the bananas ,I think my trees look more like icecream cones🤣 I have actually learned a lot,just gotta get those techniques down

 

Just before dark Grace 🐕 & me took a ride in the truck down town to Tinsel Trail, a festival of decorated trees from local businesses 

Sewing,Baking & Frogs 🤣

 From what I can figure if I make the red & white patch quilt around 73 x 84 I'll need 380 blocks, cutting the fabric in strips of  4 1/2" WOF will yield 9-10 4 & ,1/2" blocks ,all red & white strips are cut & handing with the quilt tops,this will be a Jan. project as Im tied for for quilts for Christmas 

I made a new recipe today, creamy cheesey spinach pasta,butter,garlic, heavy cream & fresh grated parmesan makes for a delicious homemade Alfredo like sauce

then I made a home chocolate cake from scratch

worked on my watercolor homework

then there's the frog🤣 I was driving & noticed he was sitting on the dash board, ,he jumped on the window so I tried to let it down  only to get him stuck😄 he wiggled out & jumped again,at this point I didn't know if he went in my purse in the door,when I got  to where I could stop I finally caught him ,he jumped out of my hand & into the paking lot ,I was like 👀you cant be in the parking lot,so I'm chasing him & finally catch him & put him in a tree 🤣

All this fun called for a  needed cake & coffee break 🤣

Catching Up on Quilt Projects

 Here we are at the beginning of a fresh new month,last month I spent the majority fighting off an ear infection & only got 2 simple pincushions made

Today so far I've gotten a good start on my niece's & nephew's quilt ,the dinisoure print will showcase the whole strips 8 1/2 x WOF (8 1/2 x 40 1/2) & the solids will be cut into 4 1/2  x 4 1/2, the pattern calls for 2 WOF but Im using 3 colors I have go a different route for a checkerboard strip

All of these strips will be cut into 10 1/2 " blocks, my little niece wanted  one made from my bird fabric, I'm glad I could find some yummy colors to make them look more girly 

A brand new month awaits us & I am looking to have a much better productive time in the sewing room!😄
