Slow & Easy

 Keeping it simple but good today,feed & enjoy the birds, quality time in the sewing room ,no rush no hurries no worries just taking it slow & easy,luv my little corner of the kitchen adorned with sisters vintage Royal Stafford England black & white plates

having to cut down 16 little blocks to 2" slowed me down on my yellow blocks for RSC (rainbow scrappy challenge) I was thinking they were 2 1/2" sooo just got one in today,after triming up they measure out 12 X 12

Monday Plans & Adventures

 With just a few days left in this month there's lots to do,needs to be done,needs to get done so let's stretch that out to Mon.plans, Tue. plans, Wed. plans  😂most importantly to get  quilt #1 of the Bramble Blooms  sew along finished ,so the next few days will be catch up days 

Meanwhile we still have Sadie ,my friends beautiful chocolate lab,Grace has given her lessons in flower inspection,& stands back to supervise 

The roses in the backyard are happy,they luv the dirt & the dirt lives them lol 

I've always heard that roses should be planted in months that have a "R" in them,🤔 is this a rule set in stone?LOL

I'm So Lemony Happy!

 Made my lemon dress today & I luv it! Spite that I put the neckband wrong side out the 1st go round,,2nd go round sewed it backwards,well like the saying goes,3rd times a charm!😂

A Little Taste Of Morning Adventures

 

Then home to make lemon chicken & broccoli for lunch

there were plans for sewing for the rest of the day but they got interrupted when a friend called wanting me to help with going & picking up a beautiful antique sewing machine in a cabinet, that thing was too heavy for us oldies to handle but we did it & will probably pay for it tomorrow 🤣 then one thing led to another , dinner,a trip to Joann's & the rest was history lol

Sewing bright & early in the morning for sure ,that's the plan as it stands for now😂 

 

How Many Inches? Blocks?How short?HowLong?...

 When it comes to quilting or sewing these are some of the questions we ponder over & over,I keep a sewing journal to cut down on Googleing so much 😂 these charts would be nice to print out for a reference 

I've been doing a lot of cutting & prepping ,I only had 2 yds of the lemon fabric but I'm short so I made it work for what I wanted 😂 if all goes well today it will make its Day view tomorrow 

Grace & me are off to pick up Sadie for the weekend then straight to the park 

Early Morning Visitors & More Sewing Plans

 I almost missed my early morning visitors, lol ,coming into the kitchen for my coffee I noticed the bluest bird in the backyard,I had to run back to the living room to grab the phone off the charger🤣

This is the first I've seen this year of the Indigo Blue Buntings

I picked up a few odds & ends for working on projects over the weekend ,Joanns had a $3.99 sale of quilting cotton ,this one is called dusty paint drippings, it will be the backing for the RSC 2023 color wash quilt,cotton belting & batting for a bag I feel compelled to make😄& more pearl cotton to add to the collection for my slow stitching journal 

Speaking of quilts ,I'm not sure where my brains been concerning the Bramble Blooms quilt 😄 the Bramble Blooms QAL is hosted by Audrey of Quilty Folks ,there are 3 quilts in this QAL 🤔my brain had clicked over to thinking we post all 3 at the end ,well I've discovered that's a no 🤣the 1st one is to be posted the end of this month like in 6 days finished🤣

I'm feeling a little lemony 🍋today ,I've have this fabric in my stash for quite some time,I had to open the front door to get a good pic of the true yellow,the look on Graces face!👀 like you gonna make what? with this?🤣🤣

A Cooking & Pattern Cutting Kind Of Day

 The morning started out with homemade waffles 

cutting out patterns to save time, especially the ones I have to hack because they're wayyyyy too long😄& getting some things cut out for a productive day tomorrow

I recently went to Tractor Supply with my niece & it was baby chick cuteness overload 

There was a new Dollar Tree store to check out ,these magazines are packed with recipes will full page pictures along with good reading articles for just $1.25 each

And if there's cute paper plates then I'm in! 😄

The day ended with shrimp scampi with simple ingredients of broth,butter, garlic,lemon juice , salt,pepper , parsley,frozen precooked shrimp

A Few More Blocks

 I'm not sure if today was a productive day but I did manage to get a few more blocks sewn together,6 little 9 patches that I  will trim down later

so far I have 59 ,still behind if you go by what week we're on😄 2 more of the 16 patch blocks

I'm up to 7,these aren't for any ryme or reason other than I want a patchwork quilt🤣

The 16 patch once cut out goes together pretty quick so why can't I come up with a flimsy by the end of the day? 🤣I think that I overthink the overall block trying to match fabrics & cutting out as I go

Sooooo

Since the overthinking is taking up the time for other projects 🤣 I think the focus will be on them & catch up on cutting out quilt squares in-between & if plan B fails there's always plan C 🤣
