Memories, Blueberry Biscuits & A Baby Shower

 Through the years we all cull out things that are no longer useful,damaged,or simply no longer need nor want ,it takes a while to go through 50 yrs of stuff 🤣

This cutting board was my mamas ,I will never part with it,we all bought one back in the 70's,along with mamas I still have mine as well which is an apple theme 🍎 

I still have my 1st rolling pin bought back in the 70's when we first married,you see them in antique shops now 😄mine is still rolling strong! My cutting boards serve many purposes from chopping to rolling out dough

Some things hold sentimental value & sweet memories that will never grow old no matter how old they become

leftover dough was just enough to make Grace & Sadie one

Later this morning my niece picked me up & we were off to a baby shower for my niece-n-law who lives in Mobile,they came down for the weekend to have her shower so that  family & friends could be part of this joyous occasion

Grace & Sadie got in a little sunbathing while I watered the flowers that needs planting,there are some days I need two of me 😄

Our 1st Adventure In A Month

 Sadie's with us this weekend,Grace & me picked her up early this morning 

I'm not sure what's up with the binding on this quilt, nothing to do but do it over, Sadie decided to assiste me 😄

After I got it situated,I took them to the park,we didn't stay too long for I didn't want to tire Grace out 

Church Family Cookout & Fireworks

 My great niece & nephew  my nieces grandbabies are ready for fireworks

Do you ever feel compelled  to say if it starts after dark Im not going?🤣 there were hamburgers ,hotdogs, watermelon & desserts galore,we had a good turn out 

 

It didn't take long to fall asleep after I got home do this post is a day late 😄 

Sample Top Sewn Together

 

The sample top is done,now to measure for borders & make final decisions keeping it within the size range regulations , everywhere you see the darker blue square will be where the bird print fabric will be in the final quilt ,the coordinating squares will be in greens & cranberries ,there is excitement & nervousness all balled up into one with this challenge 🤣

It looks like we may be in for more rain,hopefully not for I'd  like to make a quick run to the park with Grace🐕 for a photo shoot with the green quilt ,& I mean quick like less than 2 miles up the road quick 🤣there's a "park" across from a restaurant  close by ,its just a walking sidewalk ,I guess as long as you can walk it,throw in a few benches& street lights  it classifies as a park🤣 A busy weekend ahead, fireworks & cookout with church family,pick Sadie🐕 up, the 4th at my nieces,a baby shower for my niece that's coming in for the 4th that lives close to Mobile " getting 2 birds with 1 stone"😄 church Sunday & get sewing room cleaned & ready for  prepping the pretty fabrics for the submission quilt,start cutting bright & early Monday morning,lordy I'm tired already!🤣

An Outting For Flowers & Veggies

A rainy morning  started with blueberry buckle  for breakfast 

The rain didn't last long & Grace 🐕 & me were off to make a flower & veggie haul, zinnias, butterfly bushes, marigolds, chocolate mint, I've never grown chocolate  mint so It'll be interesting to find ways to use it,another was purple cherry tomatoes, I've had the bigger ones but didn't know there were salad sized ones ,Ive gotta get out more😄 purple collards,squash, yellow cherry tomatoes, now if it'll just stop raining lol

The bees & butterflies were buzzing around with only one thing on their mind, nectar 😄,I thought one bee was going to follow me to the car & go home with me
