Trying New Things

 Trying some new techniques with Stitching With Zen, the cup is a process with crayons & embroidery,ading white overall in a stroking or circular motion then your colors,setting the iron to the hotest setting & laying a paper towel over & pressing,repeat with a fresh paper towel untill no more marks appear on the paper towel then outline with embroidery stitches,, Sense of Touch is a process of 4 layers of fabric,stitched & cutting through the 1st layer with a mixture of using scissors & a seam ripper,since Im starting a new slow stitch journal  for the new year I incorporated them into the first pages

Today was the end of the Shop Hop,my niece & me managage to squeeze in 10 throughout the month,we were limited time wise having to be back in time for her boys to get in from school,this morning we ventured out to Thomasville  Ala.to the sweetest shop 

I purchased a roll of batting & some yummy fat quarters ,they will be a beautiful start to the oak leaf

 quilt I want to make in the upcoming months,afterwards we Googled where to eat & found the perfect restaurant & enjoyed lunch on the deck overlooking the lake

Just Chillin

 Grace & me has just been chilling on tbe couch today😀 I'm down to last of the original  red & white squares of the original  plan for the red & white quilt unstitching & cutting them   down to 3 &1/2"

A little review of the red & whitt top,the white seemed to overpower the look I was wanting & it was then that I decided to pull in the deep red rose print & cut the squares smaller

4 more rows cut out & ready to add on, I'm hoping to get this top finished by the weekend & get started quitting on both the red & white quilts & finished by December 

 

Time To Get The Reds Out

 I've been working on cutting  more squares out for the red/white/floral patch quilt 

I need to figure out how many of each is needed & get them all cut, I'm thinking that  it may go faster,found this  quote & thought it was cute & so true 😄

This apron body was missing ,then I happened to check the "fabric" I gave my little nephew to put around the base of the Fall tree,he had told me something wasn't right that it wouldn't work & I told him as long as it covered the legs of the tree  it'll be ok,well he was right! It was the missing apron body🤣

Finishing Up For Saturday

 Just a  wee little mess I promise,if the sewing room could talk I'm sure it'd say not again! 😄finishing up the last of the decorating , tomorrow's grocery run day & prepping what can be made a day ahead , cheese ball,chicken salad etc.

Got the aprons cut out & ready to sew up  later this evening 

Meeting up with a friend this evening then.I'll get the aprons finished,my niece is spending the day with me tomorrow to help prep food for Saturday ,I know this post is boring 🤣 I've been busy finishing up

 cleaning ,decorating, tweaking  etc.
