Kentuck Art Night takes place downtown Northport the first Thursday of the month, artist are featured each month, artist & vendors are featured outside as well, downtown holds many sweet memories ,as my grandmother's house is now part of the Historical section, she had an iron bed that as cousins we'd squeeze as many that'd fit in that bed just to have it shimmy across the floor when the train pass over the tressal lol many walks down the sidewalk to the commissary which is no longer there to get flour, sugar ,ginger snap cookies etc, the five & dime store still stands ,aww the times sister & me visited that store with our little change to buy penny candy๐ Faccetts is still family owned ,wayyyyyyy back in the day Ms Faccetts was my first grade teacher,we lived in a house behind the shoe shop owned by my uncle which is now a flower shop, the barber shop is still there where Dad got his hair cut ,downtown Northport is a mixture of yesterday & day which makes it unique in its own special way
