Coming Up To The Finish Line

 I'm too close to the finish line to worry about that day late dollar short theory or the light bulb moment 🕯️😄 what I mean is 1 yd will yield 1 pillowcase  ,body & cuff from same fabric, (body 27" WOF/ cuff 9" WOF) after the 50ish mark the lightbulb came on😄 3 yds yields 3 butttt when using a coordinating band 3 yds yields 4, cutting (3) 9" bands equals 27" a whole nother body today stacks to cut, stacks to jelly roll & stacks for the final finish through the serger,only 28 more to go!

I must of been tired when I made the last run for fabric,maybe the 💡 went out 😄 I had the 4 to 3 yds in my head so after I got home,I recounted everything ,8 short towards my goal🙆  I have separate totes to contain whole yardages that doesn't get cut into just to be cutting so I'm going through & seeing what I have that can be used for bands,plans for today will be serging,rolling, sewing,cutting that's how I'll be rolling in the sewing room this morning 😄

Back In The Sewing Room

 How early do you start your day? 4:30 am coffee's ready,I did a lot of  jelly roll prepping before I went to bed last night

Coffee,soft lights,machine humming,iron heating up & you tube quilting videos make for a good start for a productive day

Finishing up what was bedside the machine & then tackling this stack is the plan for this morning,last night I did a rough count of the  finished table,serger,& this stack of 31 etc. it came out 72 ,is it possible? can I be this close to 100? halfway into the morning I will do a recount

Update On A Day In The sewing Room & So On

 My assembly line layout was buzzing this morning,I think it can count as a workout 😄 31 cut & ready to sew,just a few need cuffs,I opted to have an extra pillowcase  as opposed to having 6" left that I couldn't use on a few of them 

The online colored pencil art class was coming up at 1:00 so I went ahead & made lemon chicken with broccoli so it'd be ready after class,I servered it over spaghetti noodles left over from last night lol

Grace🐕 knew there was something on the stove & she wanted to eat now😄 I made a cup of herbal tea & got out a homemade peanut butter cookie I made last night

I went back to the sewing room & sewed a few up ready to be sergered then it was time for the online class,I always thought colored pencils were  just for coloring,it never occured to me you could shade & do techinics with colored pencils ,I needed to pay closer attention to the raindrops as they got shaded in making them looking polka dots😄but it was fun, enlightening & I learned something new

The class was about 2 hrs & it was good to have dinner ready & 2 more PB cookies for dessert & watched a movie then back to the sewing room prepping them to the jelly roll stage, I'll work a few more hours then clock out of the sewing room for the night 😄

I sent this to my family chat & told them if they don't hear from me ,look for me here 🤣 getting a lot of prep work done before the online colored pencil  lesson starts,I never knew you could color & shade with technics to make something look painted but with colored pencils

First Fall Top Finished

 Early this morning I finished up the final outer borders on the panel quilt top, my  sweet 95 yr old neighbor wants to play bingo which is held at our PARA center so I finished this up so I can dive into quilting it once the pillowcases are finished & delivered. 

More Shop Hop Adventures

 Bigbee Quilt shop is a cute little shop in Jackson Ala. besides Walmart that's about all there was to venture out to, I'm in the process of making pillowcases & there was a very slim selection of childrens prints but I did come away with 3 yards of this cute print

Fell in luv with this pattern ,after getting home & pulling it out & discovering that its a mini book of instructions I was like what?🙆😄 but it has layouts & measurements from crib to queen size

Absolutely luv this verigated thread in the Fall colors,maybe I'll dive into this pattern after I get the pillowcases finished & delivered 

A small little shop but cute as a bug & the employees are just the sweetest!

A Touch Of Fall 🍁

It hard to think Fall with temps still rising in the 100's but according to the calendar it will be here  September 22nd

That's right at just 2 weeks to get ready for friends & family to gather for my Fall celebration buffet dinner party ,my great grand niece & nephew look forward to getting the pumpkin tree as they call it, set up every year,after church it was pizza & games at their favorite pizza place ,my niece & nephew "GiGi & PoPs " dropped them off at my house on the way home  ,we fluffed the tree,did light inspection,the middle section was out so we had to round up a strand from the garage,pre lit is nice but once they're out they're out lol

The fun part is turning out the light & having that awww moment😄 I got the hutch ready to transition into its Fall mode & then they colored & watched Toy Story

Gigi & PoPs came to retrieve their grandbabies 😄I changed cloths & was close behind them onto the next adventure to Sadies 🐕 house , Molly had invited a few close friends from church to celebrate her birthday,her sons & daughter-n-law  did all the planning from the cake down to catering from the Olive Garden,Sunday was a busy but fun day from church to lunch & arcade 

games to decorating the Fall tree to a birthday celebration & you guessed it! i brought Sadie home with me to spend the night 😄

Things Are Buzzing In The Sewing Room

 

Back on pillowcase duty ,I finished sewing up the ones waiting to be sewn,rolled all the ones that were cut

How far have you gotten on a project before you realized the spool was out of thread? For me it was the whole 2 sides of the pillowcase 🤣

It was time to step away & take a break,I fixed lunch & pulled the panel quilt top out & added a double row of 4 patches to the bottom they were all ready sewn in pairs so it didn't take long, the top & another round of borders & this may get a start on getting quilted this coming  week

Let me share a blessing from my latest fabric haul from Hobby Lobby ,upon telling the sales lady the yardages of each one,they asked what was I making,when I shared with them about Ryans Case For Smiles,they extended the yardages ,instead of coming home with 22 yards I came home with 30 yards! God is so good!

Over 40 yards to cut,can you guess what I'll be doing for the remainder of the weekend?🤣

NorthPort Pickers Grand Opening

 There's a heat advisory out today & you can sure nuff feel it,if I didn't need rotary blades I wouldn't of gotten out but I did so I did 😄as long as I was out I met up with my niece & we went to the grand opening of North Port Pickers then went to lunch, it was hard to get good over all pictures with so many people so I just snapped a few things that caught my eye, a friend from church has a booth with lots of sweet things,I didn't know she painted she's been holding out!🤣

There was a good turn out & still quite a few booths waiting to be filled ,some were still setting up,this place is so hudge & still growing!
