The evening was spent working on the Bramble Blooms quilt, the cornerstones wound up in the wrong place so I walked away & went to bed🤣but today I took all 4 sides off & recut the top &. bottom border,the next borders is a patchwork ,still debating how big to make it
April started out with good intentions 😄 lots of family events ,we had Sadie for a long weekend,all was going to plan,sewing,taking Grace & Sadie on Park adventures
That last adventure upon walking past a tiny little terrior Sadie " choc lab" decides to investigate whether it's a toy all 80lbs of her pulled me down& pulled me with her ,about 5 came to my rescue & helped me back to my car, banged up & bruised elbows, my poor knee looked like grated cheese , bruised ankle & those inside bruise are the worse especially the top of a rib
You may have heard ina few of my April post about taking it slow & easy ,I was beat up that's why🤣but even in slow motion I manage to get caught up on a few quilt blocks for a few challenges I've joined in on
I'm not going to speak about May out loud 🤣but it has gotten off to a good start by making a bag out if leftover scrap fabric from the lemon dress & today I am working on quilt tops
The tutorial for this bag calls for 2 sets of 6 strips,cut in half & flip so the seams are not side by side I had the idea to use 2 prints which made it look sloppy like it was out of line so the first thing I did was take the strap off ,turn the bag "the back looked better" lol repositioned the straps & embellished it with ribbon & beads
I luv it a whole lot better now even if it wasn't supposed to been this small 😄 it will hand in the sewing room & be home for my slow stitch journal
I'm getting ready to start working on page layouts so I'll be adding things to the little bag as I figure it out it'll be nice to have it prepped where I can grab it & sit in the living room or out on the laneigh
Sometimes when a project doesn't go the way it was supposed to,you just have to walk away,rethink & regroup😄 I will definitely be doing a take 2 of this bag with more than 2 prints🤣
With so many things coming up in the next week I'm still in my slow & easy mode,so slow & easy there's no cooking today ,only leftovers😄 working on the Bramble Blooms quilt throughout the day ,meanwhile sharing glimpses of the backyard from where I sit

May is full of events, graduations,getting the yard maintained & so much more till I may have to pull a few all nighters in the sewing room lol
I did manage to get a few more blocks done for various quilt challenges I've got going on, all caught up with yellow for RSC ,pink 🩷 is the color for May so first thing will be is to cut all those (16) 2" blocks ,I'm thinking I'll only need 20 or so as they measure out 12 X12
All done with yellow for RSC now into pink!
I need to decide a background color🤔of course that means about 400 solids lol deep mustard? Grey? pink?😂 The next few days I will be finishing up t quilt # 1 of the Bramble Blooms challenge
lots of progress in the sewing room are the plans for May ,with an outta town conference ,2 family graduations, I may have to pull a few all nighters😂
