three months into the Rainbow Scrappy Quilt challenge, there's always plans of big big blocks ,so far that's only happened once lol I'm still sewing together last year's quilt those big blocks turned into little houses lol,the color wash method grabbed my attention ,cute, interesting but no no no I'm making big blocks ,one a month I say!🤣needless to say I've been making 4" blocks for the last 3 months lol! guestimating for a lap size of around. 56x66 I'll need roughly 304 blocks

Greens for March with 27 in

Better Days Ahead

Just like the title says, that's what I'm hoping for, better Days ahead, this past week something has grabbed hold of me & beat me down pretty good, sitting outside yesterday evening as the sun was setting I spied quite a few beautiful sights,my neighbors cherry blossom tree,a jet going by,a glorious full moon,my dove couple dropped in for a visit, birds at the feeder,no matter what the day throws at us there is always something beautiful in it

the first of the daffodils has bloomed,I have a chipmunk that thinks anything bulb related is his so I transplanted my daffodils into a potting barrel lol

I thought I was going to have to take this little guy into the house as he sat there for the longest but he finally figured out how to fly

there was a glorious sunrise this morning, the makings of a beautiful start for the day

Hoping to make a little progress in the sewing room,I'm still not fully up to par so it'll be one stich at a time

Spring Is Coming!

Are you ready for Spring? It won't be long  untill my favorite go to Nursery will be bursting with vibrant colors as far as the eyes can see, meanwhile plans for getting a head start on a few things are in the makings

my fur baby Grace & me have came across a few signs of Spring on our outings to the park

sewing wise I've been putting my little house quilt together

our JoAnns has Simplicity patterns on sale for $1.99 & fat quarters 10 for $10 so I snagged a few

A dear friend loaded me down with fabrics & patterns a few days back,I can't wait to dive into them, they are older patterns, some vintage, some out of print

I still have a few UFO's lurking about the sewing room & hoping to be able to spend a few hours each day this week sewing, creating & making beginnings of new new UFO's LOL!

Happy Valentines Day

I hope you've had a Happy Valentines Day today, I spent the day off & on in the sewing room,I fought with my dress form  again as she fell apart "again"! LoL ,I gave her one more chance & duct taped her "again" yea you guessed it,she's going to the curb!🤣a friend gave me a mannequin a few years ago but it's more decorative as everything slides off as you can see it doesn't make your projects very photogenic 😄

so that's my day in a nut shell, fighting a dress form & finishing up a robe simplicity 5931

Pink Is Still On The Rise

I rounded out my blues & worked on a few more pinks, flying geese blocks are still flying around in my head for this challenge but they haven't manifested yet 😄 meanwhile where I'm headed with these will do,I'm hoping towards the end I can make them blend towards a color wash look

I started this quilt last year ,not for any special reason, just for me cause I wanted to,all that's left is to had sew the binding to the back

And as if there's not enough projects going on in the sewing room,I went & ordered these fabrics, they will be the beginning of a mason jar quilt  ,I tell myself I'll wait toward Summer to start on that😄

while visiting a friend the other day I was able to capture my first Robin with my phone,we are seeing more & more of them ,a sure sigh that Spring is just around the corner!

Pressing Pad

Today I made a little pressing / Ironing pad, with a small cutting board on one side of my sewing machine & a small pressing Pad on the other ,triming & pressing those little Scrappy blocks go a lot faster I cut a piece of insulbrite to fit a 11x14 foam board, pulling sides around to the back & glueing down with Aleens quick drying tacky glue then a layer of  quilt batting, then  the fabric which I pulled tight & glued edges meeting in the middle then pulling up the ends envelope style & stitching down
