No Sewing Just Yet

My Grace πŸ•is about stir crazy because we can't go to the park,I tell her I understand as I look over at my quilt longing to be finished lol
My hand is still swollen,my ring was cutting into my finger,I fought to get it off this morning ,nothing worse than that kind of panic mode
Meanwhile Grace & me did enjoy a little time outside watching the beauty of nature come through the backyard

I did manage to cook spaghetti today ,as the noodles were boiling I reached for the handle cause you have to drain them right? when the Dr said no bending he wasn't kidding,a pain shot down that row of stitches so fast but then thank the Lord for strainers!

Today was better than yesterday & looking for tomorrow to be better than today

Sewing Room Patiently Waiting & Surgery Update

The sewing room that is 🀣

I thought that I'd at least be able to work on small things like my stitch journal  but surgery on my arm to remove the skin cancer  was rougher than anticipated,2 layers of stitches inside & 1 row outside about 5-6" down my arm

the location of it there wasn't really enough lose skin to pull up ,it took him & two nurses to squeeze it together as he stitched it as tight as he could get ,he almost did a skin graft but said I'd have a hard time getting over that ,I have to keep it wrapped till Wednesday then start putting Neosporin on it & wrapping it back as tight as I can get it & absolutely no bending it

It took 7 needle pokes to deaden it & yes a few times I let out a little holler πŸ˜„I go back in 10 days to take out the stitches ,he told me he had to go as deep & long as he did to be able to get some new skin to send off to make sure all is clear,if not I'll have to go through this again,in a few hours the feeling will return in my arm & I am not looking forward to that

And now to manage making a lot of coffee with one arm  lol

Don't Lose Your Needle!

How many times does your needle magically disappear when you take a break from hand stitching?πŸ˜„ I got the binding on the colorwash quilt today but decided to stitch around a few more of the blocks since there's sooooo many! LoL I put my needle through a piece of bright green fabric at my stopping point ,tomorrow will tell the tale 🀣

We've had rain off & on making the days still hot but bearable ,the  first of the yellow  sulfur butterflies made an appearance today

For dinner I seared a pork chop seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic, dill weed & paprika cooked in a cast iron skillet on  low, sometimes it's good to take a little extra time to cook something good, slaw took a new twist with purple cabbage ,a pretty & refreshing change from same oh same oh green lol, did you notice the little tomatoes look like hearts?

I wanted something sweet for later with my coffee , chocolate oatmeal sounded good,no cocoa? no problem! you can make these with or without the cocoa but the coco does make them fudgey good!
