Learning To Embroidery

 Or should I say trying to learn 😄 picking my embroidery project back up ,if you're looking for mistakes you'll find them, lots of them!🤣 I'm not too worried though,as I'm just learning after all & these kits were in the children's section for less than five dollars

one thing I need is to find a shorter needle with the eye still big enough for the thread to go through & remember to reread ,& reread like discovering after you have that proud moment of hey I made a French knot! there were supposed to of been a cluster?🤣 Looking to see improvements by the time I get to the second one😁

Early Morning Visitors

 If ever there were a best if show for birds in the backyard today would be the day ,I luv seeing all the varieties of birds that come through but especially when the jays & the woodpecker visits 

It's hard to get anything done with all this activity going on in the back yard ,lol 

From Tee To Wrap

 A few post back I shared a link  on how to turn a tee into a wrap,I tried it years ago when my hair was longer ,but spirit my now short hair I decided to give it another go

this was an old tee that was trash bound lol & I didn't put much into my hair style😄just testing to see how it'd look 

You cut 3 strips from a tee & wrap each band around your head twice this is what gives it the volume,I guess you could twist all 3 at once 🤔I may try that lol

laying low ,cleaning up around the house,making chicken-n-dumplings & getting into mischief in the sewing room 🤣

Keep Your Lightbulb Dusted 🤣

 Do you ever have those light bulbs moments? 40 plus blocks of  tiny 1 1/2" squares " yes I was sewing them together ever so carefully lol I had that lightbulb moment💡why am I not doing these in strips? LoL

this is just a practice run on my light bulb moment I'm actually caught up & will work on this week's toward the weekend

No more new quilts right? I follow Pattymac on you tube & she says why you saving those scraps just to have them get out of control ? she cut hers in 4" squares & sewed them into sets of 16 square blocks & before she knew it she had enough to make 3 or 4 quilts sooo what harm to cut squares right? before I knew it I was putting them together🤣

make it stop!🤣

But on a brighter note I did find enough to scrounge up another 12" in the reds for my rainbow  scrappy quilt I will sew these two 16 patch blocks together & be done with it

Bobbin Duties & To Do List

 There's nothing more aggravating than having to rethread a bobbin in the middle of sewing,most times having two or three still aren't enough so today I'm winding bobbins 😄

Do you make to do list? When I do it usually turns into making a list of the list then a list of the two, they are never ending once started 🤣

If I were to attempt the list ,bobbins for sure would be on top lol then personal sewing for myself

Patty Mac on You Tube was talking about tackling your scraps & not be saving them lol she went through her scraps & made different sized squares then she started cutting 4" sq's & sewing them up into  16 sq blocks,so that's on my list😄 this is just a fraction of my scraps

This does make sense in a way as my blocks for this year's rainbow scrap challenge although they are 12" they consist of (2) 6"/(4) 3"/(16)2" squares to make one block already I don't have enough big enough red pieces to make the 6" sq's  so I'm thinking I may go through it all & cut out as much as I can for that project

Our weather is going from turn the heat on to the air todays a little cool ,days that's too cool without heat but too warm with it drives me nuts 🤣anyway just chilling at home filling bobbins ,& sorting scraps

A New Hobby

 Place flowers onto watercolor paper,cover with a paper towel & tap with a hammer & waa laa! I've been practicing with dandelions & tiny wild flowers from my yard

this one I did with a paper towel using a thicker paper like from the watercolor pad doesn't let as much of the true colors come out

I also tried a new cake  doughnut recipe today that turned out pretty good!

So get you some watercolor paper  , some paper towels, a hammer & make some artwork 😁

Herbal Teas & A Run To The Park

 Do you like herbal teas? What's your favorite? Do you add anything special to it? honey? flavored sugars? cream? I decided to try the "new to me" yogi brand ,most teas I've tried doesn't even come close to the smell nor taste as promoted on the box, but this one is right on point!

I tried the tangerine one first& the minute I opened it smelt like fresh tangerines,I knew then it'd be good as promised,then I noticed there's little quotes on the backs of the tag of the tea bag,how sweet is that!

You've heard me talk about our crazy weather,well🤔 yesterday was up in the 60's so I took my Grace & Sadie 🐕🐕 to the State  park,good thing too as today it's in the 30's windy & cold! LoL here's a few pictures of their adventures

just a little over half the park left to see & over 50 pictures lol wed already missed lunch ,& it was getting late & the girls🐕🐕we're getting hungry 👀well I know I was🤣 so a definite part two with our Sadie girl soon,after getting home I made spagetti,it was a win win all around!

Scrappy Quilting Or Messy Quilting?

 

Scrappy quilting is highly overrated 🤣 & I'm not even showing you what's around my chair in 2 gal sized baggies🤣

3 more burgundy tones added to the mix

2 more blues

1 more red &  1 more brown

then I thought why not blend some,I'll call them blenders😄  1 pink & green & 1 red & pink so now I have a total of

8 greens / 5 purples / 3 oranges / 3 blues / 2 browns /3 reds / 9 yellows / 3 pinks / 3 teals / 5 marrons/ 1 blacks / 2 blenders 

these particular blocks gets sewn at random times,I guess when scrappy gets in your blood you can't get it out 🤣

there are (2) 6 2)2" blocks in the layout I've choose. For the RSC challenge, reds are one of the colors that I don't have enough to give me that size block,our Joann's is lacking in fabric choices  so I pulled in a burgundy ,it's waiting patiently to be trimmed up & pressed,I have a friend that's about to gift me with a box of scraps hopefully there'll be some reds 😁

We have Sadie for the weekend she's a beautiful chocolate lab that we doggie sit for friends, Grace 🐕 & me like to spoil her lol we started out our morning with a BLT ,they were more than happy to sample the bacon I chose for our sandwich 🤣 

Our Alabama weathers acting up again today's a pretty day so we're going to the park for tomorrow it's going to be windy ,& cold!!
